A Young Man Decides to See His Family Physician About His Depression and His Problem Drinking

Cellulite: The Natural Cure

Denny is a seventeen-year-old adolescent who has finally determined that he needs to go and see his physician about his hazardous and excessive drinking. At first, Denny thought he would be able to essentially go on the world wide web, look for some straightforward alcohol info and come to a decision whether or not he was dependent on alcohol.

Not unexpectedly, he located several websites that specified some of the commonplace alcoholism symptoms. That’s the positive news. The bad news, unfortunately, was that Denny exhibited more than a few of these alcoholism symptoms.

Alcoholism Symptoms: Some Examples

For example, Denny has been drinking substantially more than usual and he has started to have more heated spats with the young lady he is dating. In the same way, for the first time in his young life he has been suffering through sleeping problems. In a similar way, Denny time and again has felt depressed and on a growing basis he has been manifesting poor attention to detail in class. Additionally, he has felt highly stressed and more edgy on a daily basis and for the past seven or eight months he has displayed befuddled thinking in the classroom. Because Denny has been displaying all of these symptoms, he was understandably apprehensive about his excessive drinking.

So Denny at long last made up his mind to make a phone call to his physician and make an appointment. In actual fact, this was challenging for Denny because his family healthcare practitioner was also his parents’ healthcare practitioner. The origin of his worry was this: at the risk of embarrassing his family, he had to go and make known his hazardous drinking behavior to his healthcare practitioner.

When Denny arrived at the family doctor’s office, he explicitly told the family doctor about the fear he feels about his abusive drinking behavior. When the family physician asked what was bringing about this consternation, Denny confirmed that he had gone on the world wide web and read about dependency on alcohol and especially about alcohol dependency symptoms. He then articulated all of the alcohol addiction symptoms that he obviously thought he manifests.

An In Depth Physical Assessment and Outpatient Alcohol Rehab

The doctor told Denny that it was smart of him to focus on his drinking problems, he gave Denny a thoroughgoing physical evaluation, and recommended that he talk to his Mom and Dad about enrolling in an out-patient alcohol rehab center that was run by Doctor Rossi, one of his doctor co-workers who is a substance abuse and alcohol abuse specialist.

Furthermore, when Denny said that he has been feeling a sense of gloom to a greater extent, the family healthcare practitioner informed Denny that depression and alcoholism often occur in the same person. Consequently, the family physician also recommended that Denny talk to his parents about getting counseling to focus on his depression. In fact, Denny can go to the local mental health facility and make an appointment with Doctor Arndt, a distinguished clinical psychologist who specializes in treating teens.

The Significance of Coping With Your Drinking Problems and Getting Optimistic About Making Healthy and Positive Changes in Your Life

The doctor made it a point to inform Denny that he might not necessarily be an alcoholic, but that he was without a doubt drinking in a hazardous manner. Stated more explicitly, Denny was engaging in teen alcohol abuse. The family physician then told Denny that the reason he recommended alcohol rehabilitation in the first place was because he wanted him to sort out his drinking issues, make sure that he stopped them from intensifying, and start to live in a more healthy manner, even if it meant that he had to entirely quit drinking.

Everything considered, by successfully treating his drinking difficulties, Denny would be able to get his drinking difficulties under control and stop the negative cycle that could almost certainly lead to alcohol dependency.

Denny undoubtedly did not look forward to facing his parents about his excessive drinking and his depression. And he definitely did not want to face the thought of enrolling in an alcohol treatment program. And last of all, he was not overjoyed about going to a counselor about his excessive sadness. Regardless of these trepidations, however, Denny in actual fact experienced some emotional relief for the first time in quite a few months because he ultimately gave up making excuses for himself and finally determined that he needed to do something constructive about his abusive drinking.
